Hi my name is PS ♥, I am President and licensed Permanent Makeup Artist of PS Permanent Makeup here in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I would like to take a minute to tell you what I do as a makeup artist.

Permanent makeup or permanent makeup pigment is a beauty cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining, feather 3 D eyebrows, lips and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia totalis, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo.

Most commonly called permanent cosmetics, other names include dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing, semi permanent makeup[1] the latter being most appropriate since permanent makeup is, in fact, tattooing. In the United States and under similar arrangements in some other countries, the colourant additives used in permanent makeup pigments are subject to pre market approval as cosmetics tattoo ink.I use a topical antistetic which makes your application ‘Pain Free’ !! So whether you are from Canada, the USA vacationing or a resident here in Florida, PS permanent Makeup is here for you.

About Permanent Makeup

Whether it be called permanent cosmetics, permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation, these terms all describe the process of placing some form of colorant, ink, dye or pigment into the dermal layer of the skin, commonly referred to as “tattooing”. Whereas, before, the technique of “tattooing” was mainly used for the application of different forms of body art, now, it’s being heralded not only for its more subtle, natural and beautiful cosmetic applications, but also its applications in the paramedical arena. Even though traditional forms of “tattooing” have existed for centuries, the process used similarly to produce cosmetic or medical enhancement to the skin is relatively new. This process has greatly evolved to “State of the Art” in the last twenty to twenty five years. Quality cosmetic tattooing requires not only specialized training and experience but also a critical eye for beauty and aesthetics.

High quality, beautiful “State of the Art Permanent Cosmetic Procedures” require expertise on many levels with some of the most important being: an artistic eye, a steady hand, perfectionism and a thorough knowledge of color theory It is imperative that the technician has not only a discerning eye for beauty and aesthetics but also many hours of specialized training and hands on experience. Wonderful permanent makeup that does not “appear tattooed” is highly skilled and one should seek out the very best in the field before letting anyone alter their face permanently.

Almost anyone is a candidate for cosmetic micro-pigmentation. Living today’s hectic lifestyle many of us don’t have the time, skill, interest or ability to spend a lot of time applying or reapplying traditional topical cosmetics. Poor eyesight, allergies or physical disabilities can also play a role in the problem. To many of us that always like to look their absolute best, the application of permanent cosmetics can be a tremendous time saver as well as a way to boost one’s self esteem.

In my practice, I find each and every client a new and exciting challenge. I strive to achieve the most beautiful and natural affects with the process, and nothing is more rewarding to me, than to make someone feel better about themselves. Whether, it is to simply fill in a thinning brow line, enhance an irregular lip line or simply bring back the dance or sparkle around an eye with an eyelash or eyeliner enhancement, every client is a new and interesting experience. The joy and gratification that I derive from being able to play a significant part in improving a persons self esteem, by simply helping to lesson the eyebrows, Eyeliner or lips is invaluable. I feel so honored and blessed to be able to apply my God given artistic talents and educational backgrounds to this very exciting and rewarding field.

Hi my name is PS ♥, I am a licensed Permanent Makeup  Artist of PS Permanent Makeup here in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I would like to take a minute to tell you what I do as a makeup artist.

Also known as micropigmentation and permanent cosmetics

Permanent makeup uses tattoo techniques to enhance or reproduce features that are not pronounced or have been lost due to aging, a medical condition, or scarring. “Cosmetic tattooing” is most often used for the face, on the eyebrows, lashes and lips, but also can improve scars or uneven coloring of the skin (vitiligo) and restore the areola around a woman’s nipple after breast surgery.

When to Consider Permanent Makeup

  • If your eyebrows, lashes and lips are pale or lacking definition
  • If you are active, swim or do not wish to apply makeup daily
  • If you have a skin or makeup allergy
  • If surgery or scarring has left you with uneven coloring or loss of pigment (color) in some areas

These are the top three pros and cons to weigh when considering permanent makeup. If you want to focus on what is unique to you, please consult with your aesthetic plastic surgeon. Are you a good candidate for permanent makeup?

The following are some common reasons why you may want to consider permanent makeup:

    • You have sparse hair on your eyebrows or have poorly defined eyelashes
    • Your lips are pale and you do not like wearing lipstick or gloss
    • You are undergoing breast reconstruction and would like to recreate the areola area of your breast (around your nipple)
    • You have scarring that could be improved by tattooing pigment
    • You want to eliminate daily makeup application

If you are in good general health, have a positive attitude and realistic expectations, you are most likely a good candidate for this procedure.

    Detailed Procedural Info

How is a permanent makeup procedure performed?

Micropigmentation is a form of tattoo art, but is specialized to achieve specific cosmetic goals. Depending on the practice, your surgeon may have a specialist such as a licensed aesthetician or a registered nurse administer the treatment. It is important to ensure that there is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has oversight of the facility and that your specialist is licensed to perform permanent tattooing. Their qualifications and experience are integral to achieving the right look and preventing any risks or complications.

A topical anesthetic is usually applied to numb the skin and make you more comfortable during the procedure. Before the procedure begins, a scratch test on your finger will be performed to check if you are allergic to the pigment. This is important to determine if you have any reaction to the pigment before tattooing a larger area on your face.

If appropriate, there will be an outline of the area that will be tattooed. Needles penetrate the skin a few millimeters in depth and implant pigment below the epidermis for cosmetic enhancement or correction. Once the treatment is complete, ointment is applied to keep the area soft and to promote healing. A bandage may be applied to protect the area for a few hours, but is not required. More than one session, spaced four to six weeks apart, may be necessary to achieve the best results.

So whether you are from Canada, the USA vacationing or a resident here in Florida, PS permanent Makeup is here for you.

Permanent Make Up Procerdure

Procedure Details

Eyebrows take approx. 1.5 – 2 hours
Eyeliner takes approx. 1 – 1.5 hours

Lip liner takes approx. 1 – 1.5 hours
Full lip color takes approx. 1.5 – 2 hours

A topical anesthetic is used to the procedure area and left to numb while we go through the consultation forms and evaluate the most suitable colors, taking into consideration your skin tone and personality. The anesthetic is removed after 20- 30 min. Permanent makeup is artistically designed and drawn on your face with makeup pencil as the template to follow during your procedure. Once the shape and color have been agreed the pigment is then implanted into the skin with a disposable needle. During the procedure more topical anesthetic will be applied to minimize discomfort. After the procedure, the pigment color will be darker and the area treated may be slight swollen, which is a normal result from the procedure. The color will lighten and the swelling will go down. A detailed after-care instruction will be provided so you may take home and follow. No matter where you live, Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Pembrooke Pines Florida, my permanent makeup clinic is easy to get to here in Hollywood. I will be here for you!
